Precision MARPE

Cottonwood Orthodontic Lab offers precision-crafted MARPE appliances, designed to meet the unique needs of each patient. To better customize cases, we offer two screw options that can be utilized with either a TAD-first or TADs-last approach:

  • High-Torque Tiger Dental Power Screw — ideal for dense bone in older patients, providing superior strength and stability.
  • Leone’s CAD/CAM Screwa cost-effective alternative designed for younger patients, offering reliable performance in less dense bone.

All MARPE appliances from Cottonwood Labs are fabricated using MyCad technology and are fully laser sintered for maximum precision, durability, and accuracy.

Custom MSEC/MSE

For a more traditional application, the Custom MSEC provides a precision fit with custom-trimmed lumens to ensure proper vertical placement of TADs and added support, with lumen sizes ranging from 2 to 4mm. This appliance is specifically designed to accommodate a 2mm inner diameter lumen, with up to four lumens available. The Custom MSEC is an ideal solution when a CBCT scan is not available, allowing for accurate planning and guided placement. This appliance is designed exclusively for the TADs-last approach treatment plan, offering reliable performance in traditional treatment workflows.

Designed for reliability and ease of use, BioRay TADs help ensure predictable outcomes and greater confidence for both doctors and patients.

Cottonwood Orthodontic Lab offers exclusive discounts on TADs when purchased with any MSE or MARPE appliance. Doctors can also earn preferred pricing on TADs by meeting minimum order requirements through pre-orders or by maintaining a moving average of 12 MARPE cases per year. This program is designed to reward consistent partnerships and help practices maximize value while providing the highest quality treatment solutions.

SuperTADs listed here are all 2mm in diameter. Offered Lengths are: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm. The 17mm TAD is an option allowing a wider range of placement without compromising strength.

TURNAROUND TIME and Case Scheduling

At Cottonwood Labs, we are committed to delivering precise, accurate appliances and value the importance of thorough case planning and clear communication between the doctor, their staff, and our lab. While we are always happy to support doctors through the traditional bilateral submission process, it’s best to anticipate 3 to 4 weeks from start to finish when using this method to allow proper time for planning, revisions, and approval. At the same time, we work closely with practices to help them learn and utilize their own software, enabling a smooth transition to an asynchronous approval process. This approach allows doctors to define exact TAD placement within their own workflow, reducing lead times and improving efficiency. Once final RX approval of the MARPE design is received, appliances can be completed and ready for patient delivery within two weeks.

Once the case has been submitted through the Cottonwood Orthodontic Lab Portal with the following:

  • Completed WebRx prescription form
  • STL file
  • CBCT scan

A consultation can be scheduled within 3 to 5 full business days.

After the doctor approves the proposed TAD placement, the final MARPE appliance will be designed and delivery to the practice can be scheduled within two business days.

Asynchronous Approval Process

Cottonwood Labs offers an asynchronous approval process, eliminating the need for Zoom consultations. This flexible option improves turnaround time by allowing doctors to submit cases on their schedule while still receiving expert support and guidance.

Training and Support

To help streamline the process, Cottonwood Labs provides training for doctors to perform their own TAD placements with confidence. Training can take place during the bilateral submission process, where the doctor works closely with our team to:

  • Understand the minimum and maximum tolerance parameters for TAD placement.
  • Ensure optimal placement to allow Cottonwood Labs to accurately design and construct the final STL file for 3D printing.

This collaborative process empowers doctors to gain hands-on expertise while ensuring precise outcomes for their MARPE cases.
